The owners of 4035 Liberty are pursuing a renovation of the former Roth Carpet building to transform it into medical office space. The membership was generally supportive of the project as it would remove neighborhood blight and provide some quality amenities such as street trees. The parking requirement for the project is 51 spaces, and the project only provided 19 space, plus a Zip Car and a bike rack. This posed a problem for the neighboring residential district which already experiences parking problems. The membership voted to oppose the owner’s request for a Special Exception to the parking requirement. 8 votes were in favor, and 19 were opposed.
